Rope Race Climbing Centre opened in June 1993.

Our climbing walls offer a unique climbing experience with featured resin walls designed to challenge even the most experienced climber. Everyone will recognise the back wall as being based on ‘Pea Pod’ at Curber. We are located on the edge of the Peak District, between Stockport, Macclesfield, Manchester, Cheshire and Derbyshire. Our routes change weekly with new and challenging climbs added all the time with the bonus of some of the UK's most technical volumes being designed and built on-site. Rope Race bouldering is spread across 2 areas ‘The Lounge’ and ‘The Palm Room’ plus a training area with slackline, fingerboards and much more. The Fat Badger cafe is a fantastic addition to the centre, serving hot and cold food in a relaxed environment along with our world-famous flapjack.
